Robotics in Educational Curricula ~ RoboTech Center, 110 Daniel Webster Highway
Date and Time: Tuesday, November 30th from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Robots have proven themselves to be outstanding educational tools to motivate students to learn basic life skills such as problem solving, decision making, goal setting, and logical thinking. Robotics offers teachers and students the opportunity to bring together many different areas of study, through a hands-on inquiry based learning approach to science, math, and engineering disciplines. In this informative session, attendees learn about tools that enable educators to integrate Robotics into Educational Curricula. RoboTech Center is a technology resource center for educators and students in K-12 seeking technology enrichment programs. Participants in this session learn about world initiatives in robotics that have transformed the science from fiction into reality through the recent developments in Humanoid robotics projects. Your presenter is Naveena Swamy, Executive Director of the RoboTech Center. To learn more about the RoboTech Center, you can check out their website at www.robotechcenter.com.

"High Tech" Tour ~ Nashua High School South Campus, 36 Riverside Drive
Date and Time: Tuesday, November 30th from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.
Re-opening in September 2004 as a 2,000 student, grade 9-12 facility, the Nashua High School South facility is the "renovation" part of Nashua's $143,000,000 high school construction and renovation project. The onsite visit begins with an overview of the design principles, educational philosophies, and technology resources incorporated into this state-of-the-art facility. This fifteen-to-twenty-minute overview provides some time for questions and answers. The overview is followed by a guided tour throughout this school that includes the television studio, planetarium, machine shop, HVAC classroom, media center, distance learning classroom, CAD and construction design areas, and more as time allows. Sign-up at the conference registration desk and receive directions to the high school (about 4 miles from the Sheraton). Your tour guides are Tim Kelley, school principal, and Nashua High School students.

"Reach the Stars" Planetarium Experience ~ Nashua High School South Campus, 36 Riverside Drive
Date and Time: Wednesday, December 1st from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
How can we help our students not only "reach for the stars", but also understand the stars and related fields such as astronomy and physics? The answer seems obvious, include a planetarium in your school! This is exactly what is happening at the newly renovated Nashua High School South facility. The planetarium is designed as a theater in the round to simulate the Earth and the sky as a great dome surrounding us. The planetarium presents a powerful multi-media environment for education. The dome and multimedia capabilities of the planetarium will prompt its use for more than just astronomy shows, and will be available to offer other audio-visual presentations, such as laser shows, live music concerts, art displays, geography lessons, geometry lessons, or plays. You are invited to experience this new resource and hear how it is being incorporated into the secondary curriculum. Session facilitators include Wes Johnson and Ed Hendry, the individuals directly involved with designing and implementing this exciting resource.
