MITI ~ "Master It & Take It" Early-bird Workshops
MITI registration is now closed.
|
| About the MITI Master It & Take It Initiative . . . |
New Hampshire educators are amazingly creative at using the teaching resources available to
them and we have always highlighted these creative teaching and learning strategies in our
McAuliffe Stars sessions. NHSTE leadership also understands that to embrace new teaching
and learning resources, educators need opportunities to explore and master these resources.
The MITI - Master It & Take It - hands-on workshops are designed to provide educators with
both the exposure and training necessary to investigate the potential of a variety of learning
devices.
The cost of the 2010 early-bird MITI sessions includes one of the following:
a Canon PowerShot A1100IS (12.1 MP, 4x zoom) digital camera,
an Apple iPod Touch 8GB and microphone,
or an Acer Aspire One 751h-1145 Atom A520 (1.33 GHz, 1 GB memory, 160 GB hard-drive, wireless, 6-cell battery, 11.6 WXGA screen, Windows XP Home SP3) netbook computer. You choose!

| About our MITI Early-bird Workshops . . . |
An extension of our highly successful MITI handheld computer initiative that began at the
2003 Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference, in 2009 we are offering three, 1-hour MITI -
Master It & Take It - hands-on Early-bird workshops. These Early-bird workshops are
scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday mornings from 7:30 to 8:30, and Thursday morning from
7:00 to 8:00. Fully charged/loaded devices are distributed in the Balsom room 15 to 20
minutes before the workshop begins. These 1-hour workshops introduce you to the basic
features of your new device and provide an overview of some curriculum integration
strategies and management applications.
After completing the morning workshop, you have multiple concurrent sessions from which to
select over three days, providing an opportunity to learn from knowledgeable educators willing
to share their experiences.
|
| Registering for the MITI workshops . . . |
Use the conference registration form
(section 2) to sign-up for the MITI Early-bird workshops.
The 1-hour MITI workshops will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Ninety-minute, in-depth
hands-on PSDC follow-up workshops are offered later in the day for the each device on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
(Please note that these require separate registration on the conference registration form ~
see PSDC workshops PSDC07PC, PSDC15W, and PSDC23W.) MITI participants receive first priority for these follow-up workshops.
|
| What are my choices and what is the cost? |
The 1-hour MITI workshops will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.
Each MITI early-bird workshop fee includes the specific device(s) described. NHSTE will purchase the best
model and brand recommended for instructional use by technology coordinators and highly rated by consumer groups.
A volume purchase will take place in mid-November to garner the best value available for the advertised workshop fee.
At this time we anticipate purchasing the MITI devices as listed, but in the event that we experience an ordering problem in November with any of these items, a comparable item will be substituted.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR MITI WORKSHOPS: November 10th, 2009.
