Make your own robot using a LEGO NXT kit! Directions and help are provided as needed as each group experiences simple programs and learns how to make the robot move. A slideshow also presents many of the possibilities of how to use robotics in the classroom or as an extra-curricular activity. A middle school educator who has been teaching robotics in her school for nine years and a staff member from US FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) co-present this session. US FIRST is based in Manchester and supports robotics education throughout the country. FIRST organizes FLL, FIRST LEGO League, a robotics competition for middle school students. Find out how robotics can help to motivate students in math, science, and team building skills. Experience hands-on opportunities to explore and can ask questions on how to make it work in the classroom. Discover how schools can take classes to US FIRST for a week of robotics. |
