ASSISTments: Free Online Formative Assessment
Learn how to collect data online so it can be used to inform instruction and increase student
mastery. Researchers at WPI have built ASSISTments, a FREE online system that blends assessMENT
and instructional ASSISTance to help teachers collect data without wasting time on another test
or quiz. Come see how teachers from all grades use ASSISTments to 1) focus student on their work,
2) differentiate assignments, 3) evaluate explanations, 4) accelerate students by assigning
them more challenging activities online, and 5) involve parents by allowing them to see the same
reports teachers and students see. This is a BYOD session, bring your own computing device to
follow along with the presenter(s).

One-to-One at Windham High School
Windham High School opened in September 2009 and issued a laptop to each student. Learn about the
first three years of this one-to-one high school. Discover the dynamic 21st Century educational
program that students experience on a daily basis as well as the trials and tribulations of being
the first public high school in New Hampshire to implement a one-to-one laptop initiative. The
panel presenters discuss how one-to-one makes a difference in both teaching and student learning.

Revised Taxonomy.
