Level: Intermediate Grades: K-5, 6-8, 9-12

Programming can supercharge any curricular area or grade level. A variety of powerful and accessible programming environments support children's creative development and may be used to control low-cost robotics materials as well. The case will be made for teaching every child to program and for using computing as the basis for mathematics education. Strategies and resources for teaching programming will be shared. Emerging hardware and exciting new intellectual domains will be discussed. Early childhood play through the frontiers of science will be explored. We will also look at the revolutionary low-cost micro:bit and its extensions.
